Lisieux ICSE CMI International School, Coimbatore, belongs to the largest network of educational institutions run by the Carmelite Fathers of the Preshitha Province, functioning under the CMI congregation. The school falls under the aegis of the Little Flower Education Society registered according to the rules and regulations of the societies Act in 1972. While being rooted in the Indian soil, the CMI has been successful in branching out to all corners of the world.
The CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) was founded by St. Kuraiakose Elias Chavara in Kerala in 1831. The CMI fathers have carried their founder’s vision not only in Kerala but also to other parts of India and across the world. At present the CMIs have to their credit 400 schools, about 30 colleges including professional colleges and a deemed university even establishing collaborative ventures with universities abroad.
